The only way we will make it through the next few weeks is if we work together to support the most vulnerable in our communities. In the wellness community, we’re primarily focused on the marginalized business leaders and instructors who have to overcome significant systemic hurdles to be seen, acknowledged and celebrated in this industry. That’s why our relief fund is focused on helping them fortify themselves as this global pandemic looms. But even if the grant doesn’t apply to you, you can still join this movement: 1. Make a donation on our gofundme so we can offer more grants 2. Take the State of Yoga Instructor Survey co-created with @setucommunity so we can get a full picture of how yoga instructors are faring, and offer more support 3. Share the resources you’re seeing with communities that need it most 4. Love each other with everything you can

Thank you for the outpouring of support. We’ve reactivated our gofundme from our launch days to collect immediate support for the relief grants. Remember that this is a secondary way to support. The first thing to do as a company or individual is to directly support an instructor or studio in your community. Send some funds via venmo, buy some classes or a subscription, and then donate to our campaign. Together, I know we can raise another $10k to give direct funding to marginalized instructors and business owners during this difficult time. Thank you so much for all the help! Link in bio.

Wellness is the fastest growing industry worldwide, and as we head into Q2 2020 the hot new workout is the twenty-second hand washing routine. In just a matter of weeks, the coronavirus has knocked the wellness industry off its feet, creating a swift reckoning with our relationship between “health and wellness” and “privilege and access”. Now, coronavirus itself isn’t responsible for the inequities that persist in wellness. Instead, it’s merely exacerbating them; mirroring systemic inequities that are persisted in this industry — and throughout society. Here‘s what this virus is exposing us to in the industry, along with recommendations for moving forward as students, instructors, entrepreneurs, and business owners. And remember, we can’t simply wash our hands of this. As we consider the short-term symptoms, we must also address the long-term and persistent source of these issues. Only the latter will help us build more sustainable businesses for the future. Read the full report on our new Medium publication — link in bio.
