| With the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Slovenia, I have struggled with how to visualize this story. Having two small kids at home, it's a scary prospect. Neighboring northern Italy, the current epicenter, is just two to three hours away from Ljubljana, our capital. Slovenia is now almost in a complete lockdown. I visited the nearby city of Kranj to walk around downtown. The emptiness was striking—only a few people rushing to get groceries.
