Photos by @ciriljazbec | With the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in Slovenia, I have struggled with how to visualize this story. Having two small kids at home, it's a scary prospect. Neighboring northern Italy, the current epicenter, is just two to three hours away from Ljubljana, our capital. Slovenia is now almost in a complete lockdown. I visited the nearby city of Kranj to walk around downtown. The emptiness was striking—only a few people rushing to get groceries. This is Ajda Bogataj from the Bogataj dairy at the market in Kranj. “Everything changed for everyone, but we try to keep working and supply people in this difficult time,” she says.
