Hidden Veggie Chicken & Rice (Perfect for kids who don’t like eating their veggies!) 👩‍🍳 Full recipe below, send it to a friend who’d love this!⁣ By: Tasty, Claire Nolan Ingredients (for 5 servings) 5 chicken thighs ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon pepper ½ teaspoon garlic powder ½ teaspoon paprika ½ teaspoon dried basil ½ teaspoon dried oregano 2 zucchinis, grated 1 cup rice (200 g) ½ teaspoon garlic powder salt, to taste pepper, to taste 1 ½ cups chicken broth (355 mL) Preparation Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C). Season the chicken thighs in a bowl with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, dried basil, and dried oregano. Mix until thoroughly coated with the seasoning. On high, heat olive oil in a ovenproof pot and place chicken thighs, skin-side down, in the hot oil. Cook 3-4 minutes or until the thighs develop brown crispy skin, and flip over. Cook an additional 2-3 minutes to brown the other side, and remove from the pot. Grate both zucchinis with a box grater. Add the grated zucchini into the pot, along with rice, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and chicken broth. Bring to a boil. Lay the chicken on top of the rice mixture and cover. Bake for 30 minutes or until the chicken’s internal temperature reads 165˚F (75˚C). Remove chicken and broil 1-2 minutes to crisp skin even more (optional). Serve chicken on bed of rice mixture. A few days ago I was chatting with a friend which was surprised to know I was eating grapes 🍇 at 10:30pm. Whether you’re eating at 1pm or at 9pm if your not in a calorie surplus (eating more calories than you’re burning) than you’re not going to put on weight. Your body is burning calories at all times of the day, even when you’re asleep your body is still burning calories. 💥 Eating late at night may disrupt your sleep 😴 and that’s why it is recommended you don’t eat for at least 2-3 hours before going to bed but will not make you gain extra weight. Recipe + 🎥 by: @delish 👍🏽 ________________ 🌀 INGREDIENTS 2 avocados 2 tbsp. butter, divided 4 large eggs Kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper 1/4 c. shredded cheddar 2 slices cooked bacon, crumbled 2 green onions, sliced ________________ 🌀 DIRECTIONS 1. Cut avocado in half and remove pit. Lay avocado halves on their sides and carefully cut lengthwise into 2 thick slices each. Hollow out middles with a paring knife. 2. In a large, nonstick skillet over medium-low heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter. Place avocado slices into skillet and crack an egg into the center. Season with salt and pepper. 3. Cover skillet and cook until egg is cooked to your desired doneness, about 5 minutes for a just runny egg. Sprinkle cheese on top of each slice, cover with lid again and cook until the cheese is melted, a minute more. 4. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Garnish with bacon and green onions.

Early morning workout at Orangetheory means I have time for this amazing breakfast before classes started today. Eggs are honestly one of my favorite things to have for breakfast, especially after a hard workout. Pro Tip: add green onion/scallions to your scrambled eggs…it’s a game changer and packs the eggs with so much flavor. Would you do it if you KNEW you'd get your results? 20 - 30 minutes 5 or 6 times a week and more food than you usually eat. Sounds too good to be true, right? Nope! That's all I do now.🎉 The photo on the left, I was swimming fast front crawl (I used to train with a lady who eventually won the British Ironman comps and I would beat her up and down the pool - and yes, swimming was her weakest discipline, but I was chuffed, nonetheless!) I swam at least one mile three times a week. I also hula-hooped 3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes. I also did sprint intervals on my water-rower for around 15 to 30 minutes 3 or 4 times a week. And I did my home-made Pilates-inspired workouts for 30 minutes 3 days a week. I figured that my moving-south body was down to hormones and time of life. I'd pretty much accepted that old and frumpy, here I come.😔 Until I started doing my at-home workouts and following the nutrition which comes with them. Hallelujah! Approaching my 50th birthday in July, I've never felt fitter, stronger, leaner, more confident or happier. 💃 It's not just about turning a droopy booty 😞 into a smiling booty 😊, it's about feeling vibrant in my skin and liking the girl I dress and undress every day. Portion Sizes. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you read the "what should I eat" post, you know what you should eat. Today I want to talk about how much you should eat. This is where a lot of people have trouble. Tracking what you eat is a mandatory aspect of fat loss, and learning about what is in the food you consume. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If fat loss is your goal, the amount of food you eat is critically important. You want to be eating less calories than you are burning throughout the day. A lot of factors go into figuring out how many calories you are burning. You have to look at your entire day, stress, training and outside of the gym activity. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are two ways to track your calories. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. Weighing and measuring all of your food, and tracking it in some kind of app on your phone. 2. Use the portion size method to accurately estimate your calorie intake. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can also use a combination of these two methods. Weigh out and measure all of your food when you are cooking at home, and when you are meal prepping. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ People almost always eat more food than they think they do. All of the little bites, and snacks you have during the day that you don’t think about add up. A latte from starbucks can have 800 calories in it. How often do you finish the food on your child's plate without even batting an eyelash? All this stuff adds up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To use the portion size method we use our hand to measure the bulk of our food. This works well because for most people because your hand is usually proportional to your ideal body size. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Protein- The palm of your hand. Carb- A cupped hand. Vegetables- A closed fist. Fats- A thumb. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is very accurate as long as you are honest with yourself.
