Forbidden black rice, Pinto beans, yucca, and collard greens sautรฉed with sesame seeds. I created this meal on the fly, and it was on point. I left the pinto beans soaking while at work, so they were ready to go when I got home. I cooked these dishes all at once, so dinner only took about 45 minutes or so to prepare, and we have leftovers for days! High levels of antioxidants give black rice is deep color. It has the highest antioxidant content of any rice. Itโ€™s packed with phytonutrients and fiber, making Iran incredibly healthy whole grain. ~ Forbidden black rice: sautรฉ 2-3 cloves of diced garlic, 3 scallions and 1 diced jalapeรฑo (seeds removed) if you are feeling spicy. Add a little salt and 3-4 tbsp nutritional yeast. Cook the entire bag with water (follow ratio per instructions). ~ Pinto beans (1 bag): Drain water From soaked pinto beans. Sautรฉ a half onion and 3 to 4 cloves of diced garlic. Add pinto beans to instant pot/pressure cooker and water (water should be about 2 fingers above beans). Add a generous portion of nutritional yeast and a little salt. Cook on medium for 15 minutes and allow pressure to slowly release. ~ Collard greens-I sautรฉed these in a pan with a dash of salt, sesame seeds, turmeric and paprika. I added small amounts of water as needed until cooked thoroughly but still a little crispy. Use any seasonings that suit your fancy. ~ Yuka: boil a pot of water and throw in a bag of frozen yuka pieces (found in the frozen section of most grocery stores). Boil for 30 minutes, drain water. Salt to taste. Option: for crispy yuka, sautรฉ 1 tsp of olive oil in a large skillet and sear pieces of yuka until slightly crispy.

These are a awesome to add to baking and smoothies or aรงaรญ bowls.... I use the green bag of unflavored plant protein powder to replace 1/4C flower in any recipe. The purple bag is good for shakes and bowls, oatmeal, or baking. I get these both at Walmart by the stevia and hemp seeds (baking aisle).

Open an avocado and pop the seed in there and shake well to combine. Remove the seed. In a big bowl, add lettuce, cooked brown rice, roasted sweet potatoes, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes and avocado. RECIPE For the cake: 230g black beans 14 pitted dates 1 cup cacao powder 4 tbsp potato flour 2 tbsp coconut oil 0.5 cup oat milk 0.5 tsp salt 1 tsp baking powder . For the frosting: 80g vegan dark chocolate Method: 1. Mix all of the ingredients except from the dark chocolate. 2. Pour the dough into a form. 3. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes (175 degrees) 4. Melt the dark chocolate and cover the cake. 5. Let the cake set for one hour before serving.

quick tofu stir fry for dinner ๐Ÿ˜ cooking the rice was the lengthiest part of this meal, so if you have some ready to go, this dish takes 10 minutes max to whip up ๐Ÿ‘โœจ I just added @traderjoes frozen stir fry veggies & cauliflower rice to a pan on medium/low heat, gave it a good stir and added in 1/2 a block of firm, pressed tofu and covered it for about 5 minutes to let it steam. I then added in coconut aminos, sesame oil, lime juice, garlic powder, ginger powder & onion powder and let it cook for another minute or so. I then added in the jasmine rice I cooked which I added rice wine vinegar to and mixed everything together in the pan! Today was an extremely Mondayish Monday for me. The amount of protein for an average diet can very easily be fulfilled using different kinds of vegetables in your diet. When you go to the supermarket next time, just skip the meat and dairy and opt for more nutritional choices. - Green Peas. - Spinach. - Tofu. - Tempeh. - Seitan. - Oats. - Soy Milk. - Breads (yes !). - Avocadoes. - Hemp Seeds. - Chia Seeds. - Soya beans. - Nuts. - Nut Butters. - Lentils. - Legumes. We could literally go on and on and on. But weโ€™ll let you do some of the research. Because self-research can be the most convincing form of research. The best thing for all such products is that theyโ€™re not expensive at all, we already include them in our diets in one way or the other. And thatโ€™s really all we need. We just need to include them more and include more and more varieties of green foods in our diets. ๐Ÿ’ช PROTEIN ๐Ÿ’ช โฌ‡๏ธ Proteins are long chains of amino acids, used for cell growth and repair. Twenty amino acids can be found in plant and animal proteins. Adults require eight of these โ€œessentialโ€ amino acids from their diet: Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine, Threonine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Tryptophan and Lysine. Children require an additional seven, โ€œconditionally essentialโ€ amino acids in their diets, as they arenโ€™t able to make enough to meet their needs. These include: arginine, histidine, cysteine, glycine, tyrosine, glutamine and proline. However, there are times during adult life where these amino acids may become essential, owing to poor health. The other โ€œnon-essentialโ€ amino acids that can be made by the body are: alanine, asparagine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid and serine. โฌ‡๏ธ Reference Nutrient Intake values are 0.75g per kg bodyweight per day โ€“ you do your maths! UK sources of protein normally include: Meat, cereals, milk, cheese, plants (pulses, beans, grains and nuts), fish and eggs. Due to the biological values of animal versus plant proteins, it is really important that vegetarians and vegans eat a wide variety of plant-based proteins in order that they acquire the full, complimentary range of amino acids. โฌ‡๏ธ I am currently experimenting with raising my intake of glycine (i.e. organ meats e.g. liver), and lowering methionine (i.e. lean means e.g. chicken breast). This is because I have a gene mutation that affects my MTHFR function (between 68-85%), required to remove the toxic amino acid homocysteine. This slows healing, accelerates aging, worsens inflammation and increases oxidative stress, leading to chronic health problems. I am also experimenting with a higher intake of a variety of plant protein combinations, in order that I can afford better quality, organic/grass-fed/free range animal proteins. Added bonus: buying this quality of animal protein is better for soil and biodiversity. โฌ‡๏ธ Take a small step and invest in yourself and your health, so that you can tailor your diet to your own needs (not the needs of a best fit for everyone else).
