INGREDIENTS 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 Onion (Chopped) 1 tsp Crushed Garlic 1/2 tsp Dried Oregano 1/2 tsp Dried Thyme 1 tsp Dried Basil 3 Stalks Celery (Chopped) 2 Large Carrots (Chopped) 8oz (226g) Button Mushrooms (Sliced) 2 Cans (15oz/425g each) Kidney Beans (Drained) 1 14oz (400ml) Can Chopped Tomatoes 1/2 cup (130g) Tomato Paste 5 cups (1200ml) Vegetable Stock 2 cups (480ml) Water 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce* 1 cup (185g) Uncooked Brown Rice* 3 cups Baby Spinach 1 Tbsp Coconut Sugar Salt and Pepper (To Taste) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Double Tap If You Wanna Eat That👍🍏 . Porcini Mushroom Risotto 🍃 Is this heaven? A delicious bowl that’s full of flavor! . . Follow us for daily inspiration🌱: 👉@savage.vegan.recipes 👈 👉@savage.vegan.recipes 👈 👉@savage.vegan.recipes 👈 . Ingredients: 1 small white onion or 1/2 of a very large one – very finely chopped (I have blitzed it in my food processor to save some tears and because I am not very good at chopping) 2 cloves of garlic – crushed About 150gr of chestnut mushrooms – sliced 1/2 cup of dried porcini – soaked in some warm water for at least 1 hour (don’t discard the water!) About 1 litre of veggie stock 1 teaspoon of brown miso paste 1 cup of risotto rice (you can also use brown rice but risotto rice helps massively to have a creamy and gloppy consistency) 3-4 tablespoons of nutritional yeast ( or even more, in my books the more nutritional yeast, the better!) + extra for sprinkling A glug of olive oil for frying Salt & pepper to taste Optional – I like to top it with some extra mushrooms panfried in Tamari, you don’t have to but if want to go the extra mile here is how: About 5-6 chestnut mushrooms A generous splash of Tamari or soy sauce How to: Place the finely diced onion in a pan with the glug of olive oil. Saute the onion on a medium heat until it starts to soften and becomes translucent. Add in the crushed garlic, cook for another minute and keep stirring to prevent from burning. Add in the chopped mushrooms and the rice. Drain and squeeze the dried porcini reserving the water. Roughly chopped the porcini and add them to the pan. Add in the miso paste. Pour in some veggie stock until the rice is covered and place the lid on. Cook on a medium heat for a total of 25-30 minutes (it also depends on what kind of rice you are using). The key with risotto is to keep stirring from time to time and keep adding the veggie stock and equally some of the porcini mushrooms soaking water. The rice will gradually absorbed the liquid and eventually one it’s cooked it will be quite gloppy (kind of like porridge). Once the liquid has been absorbed and the rice is cooked adjust with salt & pepper and add in the nutritional yeast

In 1934, a brilliant young scientist, Walter Kempner (1903-1997), was brought as a refugee from Nazi Germany to join the faculty of Duke Hospital s department of medicine. The first AMA presentation, in 1944, of his unconventional research in the origins and treatment of metabolic diseases provoked wide attention and considerable controversy, but the results of his strict diet regimen were undeniable. Patients flocking to Durham for the famous Rice Diet found their diabetes, kidney and cardiovascular diseases once considered fatal cured or greatly improved. The headline-grabbing success of Dr. Kempner's diet contributed significantly over the years to Durham's economic growth and Duke's transformation into a world-famous center for medical research and care. From his arrival at Duke, Kempner worked to help friends get out of Germany. For several who had been scholars in pre-war Germany he found positions here. They and a few others associated with the Rice Diet became a close-knit community in exile around the central figure of Dr. Kempner. One, author Barbara Newborg, worked with him for 40 years, much of that time as his chief medical associate. This first-hand account of Kempner's life and of his work comprises two dramatic interrelated narratives. The story of a charismatic but always controversial personality and his circle of accomplished followers, and their wartime experience as refugees and exiles, will interest general readers, including thousands of ''Ricers.'' For medical professionals and scholars, the book documents historic research that elucidated underlying principles of kidney, diabetic and cardiovascular disorders, and their successful treatment without drugs. The book includes many rare personal photographs (which Kempner suppressed during his life) and clinical images including graphs, x-rays, eye-grounds, and photos.

#ad As much as I enjoy working out and keeping fit I always have trouble keeping my energy levels up. There are many fitness snacks but often I find them bland or otherwise unappealing. Who does not love Stuffed Baked Potatoes with Mushroom and Spinach? 🥔🍄🌱 Share your thoughts in the comments 💭 📸 by @twospoons.ca, so easy and full of flavor! Get the recipe: Recipe: 4 russet potatoes 1 tbsp coconut oil 2 cloves garlic , finely chopped 4 cups (250g) cremini mushrooms pinch salt 1 tbsp almond butter 1 tbsp balsamic vinaigrette 1 tbsp lemon juice 4 cups baby spinach (approx. 2 handfuls) . . 1. Preheat oven to 425F/215C. Poke holes around each potato using a fork (this will help the heat to escape while baking). Wrap each in tin foil and bake in the oven for 40-50, or until you can easily poke through the cooked potatoes with a toothpick. 2. In a skillet add coconut oil, garlic, sliced mushrooms and pinch salt. Cook on medium heat for 5-10 minutes. 3. Whisk together almond butter, balsamic and lemon juice and pour over mushrooms. Continue cooking until mushrooms are browned and ready to eat, then toss in baby spinach and cook until wilted (2-3 minutes). Slice open baked potatoes and fill with mushroom and spinach medley. Not every meal has to be a salad! 🌱Sautéed BBQ chickpeas+kale served with brown jasmine rice 🌱easy+delicious😋 . By @cookingforpeanuts 🙏🏼 . Recipe: In non-stick skillet, sauté 2 large shallots (minced) in a little olive oil or veggie broth until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add 3/4 tsp garlic powder, 3/4 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, 3/4 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp ground mustard seed. Sauté another minute. Add 1-15oz can chickpeas (rinsed and drained) and sauté until chickpeas are crispy, adding more oil or broth as needed. Add 2 handfuls chopped kale and 1/3 cup veggie broth (or water). Mix well and cover for 1-2 minutes allowing kale to steam. Remove lid and add more broth (or water) if too dry. Stir in 2 tbsp bbq sauce (or to taste). Add salt to taste. In a large bowl, mix together the Flour, Instant Coffee, Cacao Powder, Baking Powder and Salt . 4. Quando criança, me lembro de fazer bolachinha caseira com a minha mãe. Entre amassar, modelar e assar passávamos uma tarde inteira juntas na cozinha! . As bolachas eram do tipo amanteigadas, dessas que derretem na boca! Mas depois de vegana nunca mais comi nada parecido, até que descobri essa receita maravilhosa de petit Four do blog da @chubbyvegan e convidei minha mãe no domingo passado para fazer comigo❣️ -4 xícaras de amido de milho (150g) -1 xícara de manteiga de coco (usei óleo de coco sem sabor) -1 lata de leite condensado vegetal (330g) -goiabada para rechear (opcional) PREPARO 🐼 misture o amido e a gordura até parecer uma farofa 🐼 adicione o condensado aos poucos e sove até formar uma bola única 🐼 enrole em papel filme e deixe na geladeira por 15 min MODELAGEM A receita rende bastante e como meu forno é pequeno, dividimos a massa em 4 partes e usamos 1 parte por vez deixando as outras na geladeira 🐼 Pegue uma parte da massa e sove rapidamente (precisa ficar parecendo massinha de modelar) 🐼 Modele como preferir! Fizemos bolinhas levemente achatadas, metade delas com o centro ‘afundado’ e um pedaço de goiabada e a outra metade modeladas usando um garfo 🐼 Coloque as bolachas em uma forma com papel manteiga e deixe na geladeira por 15 min 🐼 Assar em forno pré-aquecido a 180° de 10 a 20 min, o tempo vai depender do seu forno e do tamanho das suas bolachas, se assar demais elas perdem a característica de ‘derreter’ na boca 🐼 Também finalizamos uma parte abrindo a massa com uma garrafa e usando cortadores. As bolachas ficam + finas e assam + rápido, tiramos do forno quando as bordas estavam levemente douradas e ficaram bem crocantes 🐼 Deixe esfriar e guarde em um vidro com tampa, duram +/- 5 dias e renderam 120 bolachinhas . A receita da certo tanto com leite condensado comprado quanto com caseiro! LEITE CONDENSADO CASEIRO -1/2 xícara de água quente -1/3 xícara de açúcar -1 + 1/3 xícara de leite em pó vegetal da sua preferência 🍶 Só bater no liquidificador por 2 minutos e pronto! Deixa esfriar e usa como quiser! Rende o equivalente a 1 lata (330g) Eu fiz essa receita usando leite de coco em pó e deu um sabor de coco bem suave nas bolachas 🥥❤️

There are so many options out there but it's easy to fall into the processed food trap. Ingredients 3 medium size cooked sweet potatoes. peeled and mashed. 2 cups all purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tbps of flax meal mixed with 1 cup of almond milk and 1 tsp of apple cider vinegar. 1/4 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar 1/4 cup coconut oil melted 1 tablespoon grated orange rind Vegetable spray, for waffle iron Directions Mash cooked potatoes and set aside. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside. In another bowl combine the sweet potatoes, almond milk and flax mix, milk, brown sugar, coconut oil, and grated orange rind. Stir the sweet potato mixture into the flour mixture and thoroughly combine. A quick stir-fry by @plantbasedrd 🤤 Check out this super easy recipe below!⠀ ​⠀ ​Recipe: sauté some onion and mushroom then add 2 tsp minced garlic, 1/2 tsp ginger powder, 2 tsp dry basil, zucchini, and cannellini beans. Sauté allowing zucchini to slightly soften before adding 1 tbsp soy sauce, fresh spinach, and 2 tsp sriracha. Stir to combine and allow the liquid to the cook-off. Remove from heat and either add a tbsp of maple syrup or opt for a squeeze of citrus to lighten the dish. 🥗VEGANS EAT SALAD🥗 I don't often post salads on my Instagram because I don't often eat salads. While at Blue Mountain National Park, I had a heavy salad full of root veggies and healthy greens. We were scheduled to go to a barbeque restaurant for lunch and the kids were concerned about what I could eat. Well, I showed them and they were jealous. Out of 1990-2004 more than 150,000 people with all types of cancer were studied, and it was found that only 2.1 % (percent) of them were still alive after 5 years. Everyone had taken chemotherapy in their full treatment (Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2004) From this "Journal" we can note that: Chemotherapy is not the best tool for long-time survival. That although Cancer has disappeared after treatment, there may be a reappearance of cancer with more resistance and the patient may have died for such a cause. 3. We need more options than just what the doctor offers: Surgery, radiation, chemotherapy. So the question is how can one be part of those 2.1 % survivors? Oh better said how can we increase the percentage so there are much more than just 2.1 % Cancer survivors? Many feel that after being in remission of cancer for use chemotherapy, cancer does not return... but this statistic shows something else.. and in several cases to such a person with cancer, forget medicine preventive to reduce the risks of it reappearing. Consider adding Naturopathy to your arsenal Part two I will share how the combination of conventional medicine and Naturopatic medicine bring better results, compared to just using doctor's medicine....

Add 2 cups flour and mix until batter is smooth. Fold in blueberries and pour batter into a silicon donut tray. Bake for about 20 minutes. They will look light on the top but when you flip them over, they will be browned on the bottom. Easy Cheezy Green Bean and Potato Casserole 🌱 I haven’t posted in a while, I was recovering from an injury, but I’m back with some vegan comfort food. Hope y’all enjoy this as much as I did 😍🌱 Ingredients - Characters 2 medium potatoes, diced 2-3 cups green beans chopped to desired length, I get long green beans and chop them into 1 1/2 in pieces 1 small onion, finely chopped 3 large garlic cloves, minced 2 tbsp olive oil, + more if needed 1 cup plant based milk, I used lite coconut 3 tbsp nutritional yeast 1/2 cup shredded vegan cheese of choice, I used 365 brand cheddar style 1 tbsp dried Parsley 1 tbsp dried Basil 1/2 tbsp dried thyme 1 tbsp crushed red pepper 1 tbsp dried Rosemary Salt and pepper to taste 1/2 cup crushed original Chex mix Method - Tale 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (176°C) 2. Microwave potatoes and green beans in a microwave safe container for about 6-7 mins until tender In a nonstick skillet, add olive oil on low medium heat 3. Once heated, add onions. Cook for about 15 mins or so, occasionally stirring. Add oil as needed so onions don’t stick to the bottom. Add garlic and cook for about 3-4 additional mins until garlic is browned 4. Oil your baking container, and add potatoes/ green beans. Sprinkle half the nutritional yeast on top. In another container, make your sauce with plant based milk, onions and garlic mixture, rest of the nutritional yeast, parsley, basil, rosemary, thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well and add it to your baking container. Give it a stir. Add crushed Chex mix and crushed red pepper on top 5. Bake for 30 mins. With 10 mins remaining, add shredded vegan cheeze and slightly mix it with the green beans and potatoes. Put it back in the oven for the remaining time. 6. Once baked, enjoy it as is, with rice, and/ or dab with your favorite hot sauce. Serve hot 🔥 7.
