Enough sweet stuff..... said no one ever 😂😂 There's always room for sweet stuff, but my feed is filled with sweet dishes so i thought it was time i mix it up with some savoury! ▪︎ Perfectly creamy hummus with extra garlic. Topped with coriander ans fried tofu. And using some bread, cucumber and onion to dip into the tofu. ▪︎ I know i often talk about eating balanced meals.... but you know what, this right here is a balanced meal as well. ▪︎ Your meals don't have to look like the "plate model" to be healthy or balanced. Infact sometimes the healthiest is to just eat a bowl of hummus with bread and cucumber because that is exactly what you are craving!!! ▪︎ It's easy to get caught up in how lunch "should" look... but that's not always realistic. Chestnut Mushroom Dumplings in Tangy & Spicy Chili Oil Sauce by @legallyplantbased Get the recipe below: . Dumplings: 250g (8oz) Chestnut mushrooms, finely chopped 250g Napa cabbage, finely shredded 3 scallions, finely chopped 1/4 cup cilantro, finely chopped 2 garlic cloves, minced 1 tbsp grated ginger 1 1/2 tbsp light soy sauce 1/2 tsp chili flakes salt to taste 3 tsp sesame oil ~30 dumpling wrappers) . Sauce: 1 1/2 tbsp black vinegar 2 tbsp light soy sauce 1-2 tsp dried chili flakes 1 tsp coconut sugar 1 tsp grated ginger 1 scallion, finely chopped 1 1/2 tbsp rapeseed oil . Garnish: Sesame seeds and scallions DUMPLINGS: Heat 1 tsp sesame oil in a pan and fry garlic, ginger, scallions and Napa cabbage on medium heat until the cabbage is soft and all liquid has evaporated. Place in a bowl and set aside. Heat 2 tsp sesame oil in the pan and cook mushrooms on medium heat until slightly golden. Stir in with the cabbage and the remaining ingredients and let cool slightly. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and place a bit less than 1 tbsp of filling in center and fold in half-moon shape. Then, bring the two ends together and press firmly. Cook dumplings in boiling water covered until they float to the top. Place dumplings on a plate. . SAUCE: Heat the oil in a pan then remove pan from heat. Add all remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour the sauce on top of the dumplings and add garnish. I.e if you see some overly ripe bananas in the store... buy them and freeze them in or bake banana bread or muffins right away 👌 ▪︎ RECIPE IS COMING THIS WEEKEND. I'll also post the recipe in my stories :) ▪︎ Bananas... flour... sugar/sweetener....oil...cacao powder... chocolate chips...peanut butter...baking powder 🙌 ▪︎ For sugar free and flour free desserts I'm not your go to person... even if i typically try to use stevia instead of sugar. There are many accounts out there who have lots of raw food/SF/GF dessert recipes you can try. ▪︎ Some people find it strange that my instagram name is "itsahealthylifestyle" but i eat sugar,chocolate, bread, vegan spread etc...... but as you should know by now. My approach is: everything in moderation. Vegan Donuts in Prague! 🍩 What’s your favourite donut flavour?!⁣ ⁣ Every city ought to have at least one fab donut spot, amirite or amirite? 😛 When I was in Prague last week, I found this amazing donut on my very first full day in the city #Priorities 👌⁣ ⁣ I had been out touring the city in the morning, but the afternoon got quite cold, dark and rainy ☔️ So I was looking for a cosy place to find refuge when I realised that @donutshopprague was quite nearby - of course I had to go! The friend who was hosting me in Prague had said I had to try these donuts, and now I am passing on the message - if you’re in Prague make sure you get yourself to @donutshopprague! It’s cosy and warm, the staff is super friendly, and they have SO many incredible looking vegan options. Pour into a freezer-friendly airtight container and freeze for 4-6 hours until the mixture is solid. 💚🖤 Creamy vegan lemon garlic pasta by @feelgoodfoodie 💚🖤 Ingredients: 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 medium onion, sliced 2 garlic cloves, sliced 1 cup spinach 1 cup plain hummus 1 pound spaghetti pasta Juice of 1 lemon + zest ¼ cup chopped fresh basil, plus more for serving Pinch of crushed red pepper(optional) 1.Follow these steps: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil . 2.Add the pasta and cook according to package directions. 3.Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and return to the pot to stay warm. 4.In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. 5. Add the onions and cook for 5-7 minutes or until they soften. 6. Add the garlic, and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. 7. Add the spinach and cook for 1 minute, or until is slightly wilts. 8. Add the hummus, about ½ cup of the pasta cooking water, the lemon juice and lemon zest, and stir until a creamy sauce forms. 9. Add more pasta water to thin the sauce a little at time, as desired. 10. Transfer the cooked pasta to the skillet, add the basil and crushed red pepper. Creamy vegan lemon garlic pasta 🍝 🍋🍃 Ingredients: 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 medium onion, sliced 2 garlic cloves, sliced 1 cup spinach 1 cup plain hummus 1 pound spaghetti pasta Juice of 1 lemon + zest ¼ cup chopped fresh basil, plus more for serving Pinch of crushed red pepper Steps: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and return to the pot to stay warm. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 5-7 minutes or until fragrant and they soften. Add the garlic, and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Add the spinach and cook for 1 minute, or until is slightly wilts. Add the hummus, about ½ cup of the pasta cooking water, the lemon juice and lemon zest, and stir until a creamy sauce forms. Hello sweet peeps !! ☀️ Have you ever tried making GF VEGAN CINNAMON FRENCH TOAST !? 🧇🍇 . If you haven’t , you should try making these for your next breakfast 👌🏻 . 🧇🍇All what you need ; - 4/6 pieces of day old bread of choice ( @canyonglutenfree my favorite) - 1 banana - 3/4 cup almond milk or any other plant based milk you like - 1 TBS cinnamon syrup (optional but recommend (if not sub with maple syrup ) - 1 TBS GF oat flour( you can sub either spelt flour or normal ) - 1 Tsp cinnamon - pinch of salt ( I used low sodium liquid salt of @saleidealeufficiale ) - 1 TBS Nutritional yeast - 1 TBS almond butter 🧈 . 👩‍🍳 Method 👩‍🍳 ; 1. To make it faster blend all the ingredients using a blender ( except the bread ) ( you can mix them also manually - if you do you need first to smash the bananas with a fork ) - till smooth . 2. Empty mixture into a tray / bowl 3. Dip bread into mixture on both sides 4. Heat a fry pan with a little coconut oil 5. Fry the bread on low~medium heat for about 1 minute on each side until forms nice darkish crust 6. I'll take my salad with a side of roasted veggies and sourdough bread... please 😂😅 Who else is like this... or gets disappointed when the salad is a piece of lettuce, cucumber and side of sadness and disappointment 😂😅🙈 ▪︎ Here you see an example of a super delicious "salad" which works great as a main meal. ▪︎ Roasted sweet potato and brussel sprouts. Teriyaki fried tofu. Beetroots. Rocket salad. Beans. Avocado. And topped with peanuts for crunch! ▪︎ When i make salad i think.... base of some greens such as lettuce, spinach or rocket. Add some roasted root vegetables or grains such as quinoa, pearl barley, brown rice. Add some protein such as fried tofu, baked tempeh, beans or lentils... or some seitan or fake meats. Then lastly i like to either add some avocado/tahini/tahini based dressing/hummus/seeds... or a mix of those for crunch and healthy fats. Boil for 10-12 minutes (depending on the size of your cauliflower) and drain when done. 3.Preheat your oven to 200°C/390°F and line a baking sheet with paper. 4.Place your cauliflower on the sheet and gently massage the olive oil into the head. Oppositely, this dish is really not popular in France , ‘we’ do eat a lot of pasta & cheese melting on top, but not saucy cheesy stuff, so i guess this is my canadian side inspo kicking’ in for you today 😝 !🇨🇦 Also, very first filming on the new camera and least to say is it was SO hard and I wanted to quit and come back to my little camera so many times 😭😅- so excuse the little focus issues and let’s say i can only improve from there!!! 😄 Now onto the recipe : ✨ CREAMY, HEALTHY VEGAN MAC & CHEESE 🌈 Ingredients Macaroni Pasta - i use wholewheat (the sauce proportions will give you about 3 servings) 3 medium potatoes 1 carrot 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 1/4cup soaked cashews 1/2 tsp salt pepper lemon juice 1/4 cup soy milk not shown but added : 1/4 cup veggie cooking water 👉🏼Method : 1. Poke your veggies (and peel if not organic) and place in glass tupperware with bit of water and microwave 10 minutes OR steam on pot till tender. Don’t throw water away! 2. Cook pasta according to instructions 3. blend all sauce ingredients 4. pour on top of pasta and store extra sauce in jar!

Then cover the bananas with peanut butter and roll them in crushed peanuts. Put them in the freezer again for about 1 hour. Meanwhile melt the chocolate over a water bath and let cool down while waiting for the bananas. Then cover the peanut covered bananas with the chocolate. Store in freezer

Creamy vegan lemon garlic pasta by @feelgoodfoodie🍝 🍋🍃 Ingredients: 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 medium onion, sliced 2 garlic cloves, sliced 1 cup spinach 1 cup plain hummus 1 pound spaghetti pasta Juice of 1 lemon + zest ¼ cup chopped fresh basil, plus more for serving Pinch of crushed red pepper Steps: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the pasta and cook until al dente according to package directions. Reserve 1 cup of pasta cooking water, then drain the pasta and return to the pot to stay warm. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook for 5-7 minutes or until fragrant and they soften. Add the garlic, and cook for 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Add the spinach and cook for 1 minute, or until is slightly wilts. Add the hummus, about ½ cup of the pasta cooking water, the lemon juice and lemon zest, and stir until a creamy sauce forms. Add more pasta water to thin the sauce a little at time, as desired. 🥳CHOCOLATE LOVERS!!🍫🤩Get FESTIVE ✨got a new shareable chocolate idea for ur xmas dinner parties!🙌🏽🌟 Made this one for thanksgiving and people got pretty excited about it (i think!hahah) All you’ll need is: - baking paper or non-stick clean surface (I used this rectangular plate) - 200g of your fav vegan chocolate, I used a mix of 70% and 80%. - 2 tbsp Coconut cream (option, makes it milky🥛!) - Seeds and nuts (chopped) & dried fruits. Be creative & overboard with it 🤪 (Shown: almonds, pumpkin, pistachios, goji berries, cranberries, mulberries). 1. Spread the seeds & nuts. Put in freezer. 2. Melt choc in double boiler with the cream 3. Pour chocolate on top & spread (it should be more liquid than shown, mine solidified a bit because filming takes a bit of time ahahah oopsie) 4. Add last decorative toppings! 5. Set in freezer again 6. Pop out & store in the fridge then and let your guest snap their pieces! Let sit 10 minutes to "marinate". Spread the cauliflower on a baking sheet. Broil in the oven for 3-5 minutes, until the cauliflower is beginning to char on the edges. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, cook 5 minutes. Add the remaining garlic and ginger, cooking another 5 minutes. Stir in the spices, cook 1 minute. ⠀⠀ Add the tomato paste and remaining 2 cups coconut milk. Stir to combine, bring the sauce to a boil, cook 5 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Do you like BRUSSEL SPROUTS? This salad combines them with a fruity lemon-orange vinaigrette! Recipe by @mimlanie Follow @veganviralofficial for more inspo INGREDIENTS 2 pounds brussel sprouts 2 avocados, cubed 1 pomegranate (at least 1 cup seeds) 1 cup raspberries 1 green apple, cubed or small slices 1 cup walnuts 1 cup dried cranberries 🍋 For the citrus vinaigrette: 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil 2 tbsp champagne vinegar 1/8 tsp salt 1/8 tsp pepper 2 tbsp fresh orange juice 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice 1/2 tsp maple syrup Steps: Cut off the stems of the brussel sprouts and use a food processor with a slicer disc to shred the brussel sprouts (or you can cut by hand or grab a bag of shredded brussels!). Add the apple, pomegranate, walnuts and avocado. You can either add the dried cranberries and raspberries now or at the end as a topping (if you put them in now, be gentle when mixing the salad to avoid smashing the berries). Mix all vinaigrette ingredients together, and pour over the salad. Lightly toss, and serve! Serves 6-8. For a smaller salad, just cut all ingredients in half. Then cover the bananas with peanut butter and roll them in crushed peanuts. Put them in the freezer again for about 1 hour. Meanwhile melt the chocolate over a water bath and let cool down while waiting for the bananas. Then cover the peanut covered bananas with the chocolate. Store in freezer 😁 . A very important part of the meal in France haha😻Chips & roasted nuts are often so full of refined oils and additives, it is so easy and quick to make it healthier for you while still indulging tasting! They also make a great salad topping or snack! To make those: - Use raw , natural cashews & unsalted. - Start by covering everything with a starch (potato, corn) this helps the texture (not for taste) - Use spices of choice. When not using liquid add a drop of water. As shown: 1) Curry + Garlic powder + drop water. 2) lime + chili flakes (my fav!!!!) 3) cinnamon + cumin + drop water 4)tamari sauce 5)paprika + drop water - Bake 180C for 10 minutes or slightly roasted!
