- One of the best sources of high quality plant based protein, and an amazing source of vitamins, minerals, and incredible isoflavones that have ben shown to significantly decrease risk of cancer and osteoporosis. Also! Loads of research shows soybeans can also help lower cholesterol and reduce risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes. One thing that may be an issue about soy (and other plant foods that have been shown to have many health benefits) is soy’s lectin content. Lectins are referred to as ‘anti nutrients’ because they decrease absorption of nutrients and eating large amounts of certain lectins may damage the get wall over time. No worries though, as long as our foods are cooked long enough and at high enough temperature, the lectin content is nearly completely eliminated. Research shows that soy lectins are almost completely deactivated when they’re boiled for at least 10 minutes! SCRAMBLED TOFU ✨ Tonight for dinner I tried something new. I made scrambled tofu. First I cooked up some garlic, onion, courgette and red pepper in a pan along with some pepper and salt 🧂Then I crumbled the block of tofu and I added some turmeric, curry powder and some Italien herbs. I cooked it untill fully cooked. Probably my last recipe post for veganuary but I think I might carry on into the coming months because of the awesome variety of food available. Who doesn't love a warm meal with a chilli kick on those cold winter nights?! The meatless farm co's chilli con carne is to die for 😍😍. Having it with white rice like @ellietheveggie is a great shout, but even if you've ran out, bread will suffice...and if you love carbs as much as me you can go mad with bread choices....baguettes, toast.....the world is your toaster (bad joke?)😂😂.⁠ What I love about this in particular is that the taste is not overwhelming and you won't be rushing for a glass of water after every mouthful. You can even make it at home, so easy 😉 . Unfortunately most commercial brands add palm oil, saturated fats, salt, sugar, or even milk. . Palm oil is not bad in itself, but because it is used in so many products, the demand is huge and it drives deforestation because huge areas of tropical forests and other ecosystems are being stripped to plant palms. . Real peanut butter is a fairly balanced source of energy. A 100g portion of peanut butter provides 20g of carbs (6g of which are fiber), 25g of protein and 50g of fat (oleic acid, a healthy monounsaturated fat). . Of course, eat it with moderation! Don’t binge on it, because it is high in calories. You can eat it as a dip for vegetables and fruits, condiment for salads, spread for bread, etc. . [ ] I follow the people that are living the same lifestyle as I am [ ] I do not rush myself [ ] I believe that I deserve the body that I want [ ] I juice juice and juice cause I love it [ ] I respect my body enough to put quality foods in it [ ] I remind myself that my body deserves the best nutrients [ ] I kept my focus on how I want to look and feel when I get older. [ ] I make it fun to experience with different healthy foods. [ ] I limit eating out ( it saves me coins too😋) [ ] I go on alcohol fasts for months at a time and make it rewarding when I drink [ ] When I decide to drink alcohol, I make sure it is great quality....(I save up for a good bottle 🤗) [ ] I am okay with being different around friends and family, I make it about MY journey... [ ] I look at people who tell me I am too skinny with compassion, I understand they dont understand what I am doing. [ ] I don't explain myself or justifying myself to others about my journey. Enjoy & have a lovely, Friday, friends🤗.⠀ ⁣.⠀ By @woon.heng ⠀ Recipe (yields 20-25 rolls)⁣⠀ 🌱Ingredients:⁣⠀ ~ 1 package of spring rolls wrapper, thaw based on package instructions⁣⠀ ~ 4-5 cups of shredded cabbage⁣⠀ ~ 2 cups of shredded purple cabbage⁣⠀ ~ 16oz firm tofu, cut into strips⁣⠀ ~ 10 caps mushrooms, sliced⁣⠀ ~ 2 carrots, shredded⁣⠀ ~ 1 teaspoon stir fry sauce (recipe; see highlights)⁣⠀ ~ oil for frying & salt to taste⁣⠀ ~ cornstarch slurry to seal the wrapper ⁣⠀ ✅Place shredded cabbage in a big bowl, then using your fingers, massage in 1 teaspoon of salt, set aside for 15 mins. Repeat the same step with purple cabbage. ✅Meanwhile, in a heated nonstick pan, pan-fry tofu until golden brown, season with a pinch of salt. Place tofu in a bowl & set aside. Check out this amazing & big bowl of nourishment. We've got beans, baked sweet potato, roasted corn, and air-frier plantains with mashed avocado! 🥑 🥑 All chef’d up by: @cookingforpeanuts 👇🏾👇🏾 Step-by-step instructions below:⠀ ⠀ Recipe⠀ Beans: Cook 1 chopped onion (small dice) in a little vegetable broth or sauté in olive oil until translucent, about 7 minutes. Add 3 minced garlic cloves and cook another minute. Mix in 1 tbsp tomato paste. Add 3 cups cooked black beans, 1 tbsp vegan Worcestershire sauce, 1 tbsp Dijon mustard, 1 tsp maple syrup and 1 tsp sriracha. Add desired amount of vegetable broth or bean liquid and simmer about 10 minutes, adding more liquid as needed. Salt and black pepper to taste. ⠀ Sweet potato: prick sweet potato all over with fork. Bake on lined sheet at 400F until thickest part of potato is easily pierced with fork. Once cool, slice open with a knife and add tahini and red chili flakes.⠀ Corn: use tongs to hold end of corn and turn slowly over gas flame on stove until evenly charred. (Brush vegan butter or olive oil on corn after cooking, squeeze lime and chili powder if desired.) Plantains: slice very ripe plantain into about 1-1/4 inch pieces. (Optional: brush lightly with olive oil.) Cook in air fryer or oven at 400F until lightly browned. Serve with mashed avocado and chili flakes. Salt to taste.

Baked some soft #peanutbuttercookies with added protein powder for Alder. I ate some of course and they are so amazing! Peanut butter is seriously a gift from the gods. 😂 My poor Alder still is having trouble gaining weight. The appetite stimulant drug he is on doesn't seem to be helping much at all. 😞 I tried a natural herbal appetite stimulant but it tastes awful and I can't get him to eat/drink the stuff I try adding it to (and you need multiple doses per day) so it was basically a waste of money. Vegan protein - we are now only purchasing plant based food and drink and using up all of the meat and fish we have in the house. We were already dairy, beef, egg and prawn free and after watching @gamechangersmovie we have decided to go full plant based 😱😁 and as long as we continue to be fit and healthy we will do so for as long as possible! Po niemalże dwóch tygodniach, znowu nadszedł czas do jedzenia obiadów w szkole, lub pakowania lunchboxów🙄 Nie wiem jak wy, ale podczas roku szkolnego mam jeden problem- za Chiny nie jestem w stanie dostarczyć sobie odpowoednej ilości białka😥 Nie oszukując się- w kanapkach i innuch tego typu rzeczach trudno jest go trochę przemycyć. W czym natomiast łatwo? W koktajlach😮 I nie, wcale nie potrzebujesz do tego odżywki🙀. Moim ulubieńcem w tej kwestii jest zielony groszek- i nie, nie czuć go w koktajlach😅, wystarczy dodać odpowiednie składniki, co niestety wprawy trochę wymaga😒 Ale nie martwcie się, na start mam dla was recepturę,- smakuje ona obłędnie, łatwo ją modyfikować☺️ A i warto jeść ją z miętową czekoladą- mega komponuje się z miętową od @sofreechocolate dostępną teraz na @guiltfree.pl na wyprzedaży poświątecznej😘 🍫składniki: *pół szklanki ulubionego napoju roślinnego *1 banan *łyżeczka kakao- u mnie surowe od @purella_superfoods *2 łyżki zielonego groszku (zamiast niego można użyć miarki odżywki białkowej o smaku czekoladowym, wtedy pomijamy kakao) *mała garść listków mięty *sok z około ćwiartki limonki lub cytyny 🍫Przygotowanie 1. How good does this look 😍 bookmark 🔖 this recipe and tag a friend 👭 . . 📸: @cookingforpeanuts . . RECIPE: . Cook 3/4 cups dried green lentils as per packet directions. Meanwhile, cook 1 large minced shallot and 3 minced garlic cloves in a little vegetable broth until shallots softened, about 5 minutes, adding more broth as needed. In food processor, pulse 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats until almost flour-like consistency. Add cooked lentils (drained to remove excess water), cooked shallot/garlic mixture, 1 tbsp gluten-free tamari/soy sauce, 2 tbsp tomato paste, 1-1/2 tsp apple cider vinegar, 1/2 tsp red chili flakes, 1/2 tsp fennel seed, 1 tbsp Italian seasoning to food processor with ground oats. Mix well and pulse just a few times to incorporate. Transfer to a large bowl and mix in 1/3 cup chopped pecans. Add salt/pepper to taste. Form about 14 equal balls and bake on lined sheet at 400F about 25 minutes, flipping half way through. (Soy glazed mushroom recipe in previous post.)

It’s the perfect high protein snack or meal idea and you guys have GOT to try it! ~ ~ RECIPE: 1️⃣toast 2 slices of your fav bread (I always use @foodforlifebaking ) 2️⃣spread some peanut butter on one slice of toast 3️⃣mix chocolate protein powder and cacao powder with water to create a chocolate spread, and spread it on the other slice of toast 4️⃣top the toasts with banana slices, chia seeds, and hemp seeds and DEVOUR IT🤪 ~ ~ I know that it’s getting to be the post season for most people in track, so I wanted to wish everyone the best of luck in their races🤪 Have fun with it and believe in yourself!! I am so grateful to God that my knee is completely healed and I’m able to train consistently again! I smashed a workout of 1k repeats yesterday and it felt good to get in some higher volume training!! RECIPE (Makes 18 nuggets) . 400g pack of tofu (including water) 1 tsp salt 1 tsp pepper 1 tsp paprika 1 tsp garlic powder 1/4 cup plain flour 1/4 cup soya milk 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce 3 cups vegan cornflakes . METHOD 1. Preheat oven to 180°C. 2. Drain and dry the tofu then cut into 3rds length ways and then into 1.5cm slices width ways. 3. Combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika and flour on a small plate. On another small plate combine the soya milk with sweet chilli sauce. 4. Break down the cornflakes into crumbs by placing in a food processor or in a zip-lock bag and hitting with a rolling pin. Then transfer the cornflake crumbs to a big plate. 5. Coat the tofu pieces first with the flour mix, then the milk and finally in the cornflakes, 6. Cappuccino Nice Cream 🍨 by @feelgoodfoodie ☕️ Ingredients:⠀ 3 ripe bananas, sliced and frozen⠀ 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract⠀ ½ cup cold brew⠀ ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder⠀ Chocolate chunks, for serving⠀ 1. Add bananas, vanilla extract and cold brew to a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the blender as necessary.⠀ 2. After a few minutes of blending, add the cocoa powder and blend until it’s well incorporated, scraping down the sides of the blender as necessary. ⠀ 3. Pour into a freezer-friendly airtight container and freeze for 4-6 hours until the mixture is solid.
